Starting Salary Range: $68,640 - $70,640 per year (based on bilingual status and/or experience)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions include:
- Direct supervision of all child care counselors within the cottage, including hiring, training and supervision, performance evaluation, termination, orientation, and in-service training
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated milieu, recreation and leisure time, and educational needs for each child in the assigned cottage while ensuring protection of the child's personal rights
- Help children acquire socially acceptable habits of behavior and appearance, and to develop improved personal relationships with peers and staff
- Help each child relate to the group and to handle individual problems
- Use appropriate authority and discipline as necessary to set limits for behavior and help each child develop his own capacity for self-control
- Facilitate collaboration with the clinical team and child care counselors in group meetings and in therapeutic interventions, including participating in the interpretation and implementation of treatment plans, intake and discharge of clients and establishment of treatment goals
- Attend regular staff meetings, conduct cottage team meetings, and participate in both short-term and long-term agency planning
- Prepare and monitor cottage schedules and ensure all child care worker hours are covered daily and weekly for respective cottage to ensure adequate client to staff ratios are maintained, for respective cottage, while working with other supervisors and the campus support office to allocate support when needed.
- Maintain a flexible working schedule in order to cover ratioed roles as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all state, federal, accreditation, and other governing body requirements
- Be available for consultation by telephone or in person for emergencies that occur in the assigned unit(s)
- Triages client crises.
- Liaises with local law enforcement and first responders during calls for support
- Supports the Campus Support Office with completing Missing Person reports as needed.
- Stay apprised of all main campus procedure related to emergency responses to coordinate disaster preparedness procedures in the event of natural disasters, medical emergencies, campus lockdowns, evacuations, and fire.
- Collaborate with other cottage supervisors and or lead child care counselor to identify reportable incidents and ensure that special incident reporting is complete for the supervisor's designated program and submitted in compliance with program regulations.
- Ensure staff members are identified to monitor required visitation and/or assist with monitoring visits to ensure client safety.
- Ensure all client belongings, money, allowances, are balances and maintained according to contract and program requirements.
- Able to drive for prolonged periods, stretch, reach, push, pull, bend, carry, lift, run, and walk
- Ensure all required case documentation is maintained, collected and submitted in a timely manner according to program and contract requirements.
- Assist with client and family tours as called upon.
- Ensure client admission process is completed or assigned to a designated staff member when appropriate.
- Engage clients at admission and provide information to client about program structure and expectations.
- Ensure all required intake documentation and procedures are completed as it related to the supervisor's assigned program.
- Functions as an evening manager to the entire residential program during evening hours on designated days.
- Function as an on-call manager on designated days/ weeks
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
- Bachelor's degree required
- Two years' experience in Residential Treatment
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs and dynamics of children
- Ability to supervise staff and provide leadership
- Valid California drivers license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier
