Starting Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.65 per hour (based on experience)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions include:

Content Creation

  • Lead the creation of video, photography, and graphics for the Hillsides brand and sub-brands, including Youth Moving On, HillsidesCares, and Center of Excellence
  • Collaborate on the development of a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the strategic plan and marketing goals
  • Create and maintain an integrated editorial calendar that supports all divisions and overall brand through a multichannel approach: social media platforms, websites, publications, and email marketing
  • Identify audience segments and tailor content to donors, clients/families, community partners, referral sources, and prospective customers

Mission-Driven Storytelling

  • Lead development of impact stories that highlight client outcomes, staff expertise, and community impact
  • Translate program data and outcomes into compelling, human-centered visual storytelling through video, photography, and graphic design
  • Ensure storytelling is ethical, trauma-informed, and dignity-centered

Graphic Design Support

  • Assist the organization with completing creative requests submitted through the Copy and Design Request submission process
  • Design projects include assisting with the development of printed collateral, digital materials, and promotion items/swag
  • Work closely with the Graphic Designer on large-scale projects to gather printing quotes, vendor selection, and review of proofs
  • Contribute to traditional advertising campaigns with the creation of digital ads, print ads, landing pages, and email marketing

Digital Media Tracking & Optimization

  • Monitor and report on content performance metrics such as engagement, website traffic, campaign effectiveness, and conversions
  • Use data and insights to refine content strategy and formats
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose high-performing content across channel

Content & Asset Management

  • Maintain a centralized content and story bank, including testimonials, photos, videos, and case studies
  • Track content usage across departments and channels
  • Identify content gaps and proactively plan new stories and content development
  • Other duties as required

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Media, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in content creation, social media marketing or graphic design
  • Proficient in design software including the Adobe suite
  • Exceptional design, video, and photography skills
  • Experience translating complex or sensitive topics into accessible content
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple deadlines
  • Understanding of basic SEO and digital content best practices
  • Valid California drivers license, clean driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier
