Schedule:
Sunday- Thursday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Starting Salary Range: $28.00- $33.00 per hour (based on experience)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions include:

  • Provide nursing care, health monitoring, and medication administration for all youth and NMDs served across campus-based programs.
  • Represent the nursing department at assigned team meetings, contributing to integrated care planning and treatment coordination.
  • Transcribe physician orders, receive verbal orders when necessary, and send prescriptions to the pharmacy according to agency protocols.
  • Administer medications in accordance with agency policies, licensing standards, and prescribed protocols.
  • Provide first aid and basic medical intervention as needed during shifts.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and best practices related to handling confidential health information.
  • Review lab results in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor and agency Psychiatrist.
  • Assist in reviewing, preparing, and distributing special dietary menus in coordination with the Nursing Supervisor and Dietician.
  • Monitor youth with chronic health conditions such as asthma, including scheduled evaluations and documentation of spirometer readings.
  • Participate in individual and group health education sessions to support youth understanding of medical conditions and self-care.
  • Use appropriate authority and supportive techniques to set clear, respectful limits for behavior within the medical office setting.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medication records, including documentation of administration and any side effects or refusals.
  • Learn and follow Hillsides' pharmacy procedures and legal recordkeeping requirements.
  • Provide office coverage in the absence of the Nursing Supervisor and respond to emerging health needs.
  • Prepare memos, letters, and other health-related documentation as needed.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date health charts by filing medical appointment notes, psychiatric updates, and lab reports.
  • Transport youth or NMDs to off-site medical appointments when necessary and complete all related documentation.
  • Record and track weight and height monthly, updating health records accordingly.
  • Other duties as required

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

  • Valid California LVN licensure
  • CPR Certification
  • High degree of accuracy
