Position: Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist (TBS)

Job Type: Temporary, Full-time Opportunity with flexible scheduling!

Starting Salary Range: $24.67 - $28.00 per hour, DOE

Work Location: East Los Angeles Area

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions include:

  • To provide mentoring, immediate behavioral reinforcements, time structured activities, etc. to children and adolescents who are at risk of a psychiatric hospitalization or out of home placement, who are at risk of moving from the community into an RCL 12, who are at risk of moving from an RCL 12 into and RCL 14, and who meet medical necessity.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in supervision and discuss important topics (i.e. ethics, family dynamics, boundaries, treatment plans, interventions, documentation, positive reinforcement, limitations, etc.) with the commitment to feedback and professional growth.
  • Complete appropriate documentation (i.e. progress notes, etc.) based upon DMH regulations.
  • Facilitate a relationship with assigned youth, building upon strengths.
  • Participate in in-service training with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Teach pro-social skills and facilitate effective family and community engagement.
  • Respond calmly and professionally in a crisis, using effective conflict resolution techniques.
  • Seek consultation and support when necessary.
  • Attend all Family Resource Centers meetings and trainings.
  • Provide treatment in home, in the community, in the school, and at Hillsides based clinic.
  • Is available to do a parenting group, or other assigned group, on a rotation one evening a week.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

  • BA/BS Degree and 2 years equivalent related experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier.
