Starting Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $72,640.00 per year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for overseeing and expanding the Workforce Development Program, including developing innovative programming to meet the specific needs of the youth served
- Oversees and provide supervision to one or more Workforce Development Specialists within the program
- Responsible for providing support and training regarding WOWBook curriculum to agency employees
- Review and approve documentation including notes, internship evaluations, and employment assessments
- Interact with the community at large and with specific allied agencies, employers, government entities, and funding sources that facilitates and enhances the operation of the program, including speaking engagements that highlight and promote the Workforce Program
- Assist Tay Youth TAY with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties (EBD) in making successful transitions into adulthood, with all youth, achieving, within their potential, their goals in the transition domain of employment and career development
- Create and deliver lessons in a group setting that are rigorous and developmentally appropriate to promote growth and occupational success
- Assess youths' strengths through periodic assessments to provide accurate data to clients, staff and parties closely associated with the YMO program
- Disseminate information relative to employment in formal and informal settings, that includes such information as job acquisition and retention, educational/vocational planning, creating resumes, completion of applications for jobs, interviewing, computer skills, literacy skills, math skills, work ethic, problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Create relationships and link youth with employers, service providers, employment agencies, colleges, and educational and community agencies for the purpose of youth achieving short- and long-term goals
- Maintain and complete administrative record-keeping associated with delivery of services on a weekly basis
- Is knowledgeable in prevailing laws and regulations regarding the provision of mental health services, including confidentiality and the reporting of child abuse and neglect
- Is knowledgeable in and acts in accordance with ethical and professional standards established by appropriate professional organizations, whether or not a member themselves
- Attends and participates in program and YMO meetings, in-services, clinical conferences and supervision
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
- Masters degree in a mental health field of study, plus 2 years of post-masters experience in a relevant mental health setting; or Bachelors degree and 4 years experience in a relevant mental health setting; or an Associates of Arts degree and 6 years experience in a relevant mental health setting
- Bilingual Spanish (Preferred)
- Experience working with transitional age youth
- Knowledge of the specific issues facing youth emancipating from foster care
- Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse clientele & staff
- Valid California driver's license
- Have and maintain an acceptable driving record, subject to periodic review
- Must provide proof of personal auto insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier
